Beauty and Nature, from the first day Beauty and Nature, from the first day
For us Nature has always been the first, true master of beauty. We have grown as people and as a company in a territory in the heart of the Alps, where the natural environment and the mountain landscape are a daily presence. For this reason, from the very beginning of our company we have focused our growth on the attention to nature and sustainability.
Using wood to manufacture our pencils is a clear choice in this direction: wood is a renewable raw material, very suitable for makeup pencils, and we source it from responsibly managed forests.
Over the years we’ve formalised our commitment to sustainability, obtaining specific certifications on processes and products: we build innovation from our roots.
Essential for the environment, Essential for your beauty. Essential is a makeup pencil that combines quality, performance and sustainability of every element of the product.
Essential is made of PEFC certified wood and its formula is certified with Cosmos Organic, totally palm oil free, temperature resistant and has an excellent colour payoff thanks to a very high pigment content.
The pencil is finished with new water-based BIO paint, resins obtained from the refining of waste vegetable substances: they have a smaller environmental impact and reduce CO2 emissions.
The caps are made from Bio Base Compostable eco material, reducing CO2 emissions. The material has TUV Austria and Vincotte compostability certificates and complies with EN 13432:2000.
Essential pencils are manufactured with a sustainable production process and hold an invitation and a clear choice: respect your skin, pay attention to natural beauty, respect our Planet.

PEFC - Forest products Chain-of-Custody
We’ve obtained the forestry products chain-of-custody certification from SGS. This certification demonstrates that the wood we’re using to manufacture our pencils comes from sustainably managed forests, and ensures its traceability from the origin to our facilities, through the entire supply chain.
The PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) is an international non-profit, non-governmental organization promoting sustainable forest management worldwide, through independent third-party certification. These certifications are issued by external, independent certification bodies and are recognized at an international level.
The PEFC label identifies products from forest-based materials that come from PEFC-certified forests, managed in line with the strictest environmental, social and economic requirements.
A forest is managed sustainably when:
ISO 22716: 2007 GMP - Good Manufacturing Practices
ISO 22716:2007 is the international standard for good manufacturing practices (GMP) for cosmetics. The guidelines for the standard have been approved and accepted by many regulatory bodies worldwide, such as the International Cooperation on Cosmetics Regulation (ICCR), Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN).
The ISO 22716 standard has been prepared for consideration by the cosmetic industry and takes into account the specific needs of this sector. The standard focuses on production, control, storage and shipment of cosmetic products. These guidelines offer organizational and practical advice on the management of the human, technical and administrative factors affecting product quality.
Good manufacturing practices (GMP) are essential to any organization looking to reduce the risk and liability of their cosmetic products that can result from poor handling within their operations.
Cosmos Organic is the most strict and demanding level by ICEA (Institute for Environmental Ethics Certification), because it incorporates requirements on natural ingredients and green chemistry with the use of significant quantities of ingredients from organic farming (that must be declared on the label). Products that obtain the Cosmos Organic certification label must contain at least 20% of organic ingredients, while physically processed agricultural ingredients present in the formula must be at least 95% organic.
Natrue is an international non-profit association created by cosmetics producers from various European countries. Since there isn’t a European regulation for natural and organic cosmetics, similar to that of the agri-food sector, Natrue has drawn up a certification standard for organic cosmetics developed by an extensive scientific committee and constantly updated. Natrue-certified products are made only of 100% natural, derived natural and nature-identical substances. No substances from GMOs, silicones, parabens, microplastics, synthetic fragrances or mineral oils are permitted in the formulations.
CCPB has set up a special certification scheme for organic cosmetics. The Production Standard for this scheme contains the minimum requirements for obtaining two types of product: organic cosmetics and cosmetics with organic ingredients. In order to be called Organic, a cosmetic product must contain at least a minimum of 95% organic ingredients. No petroleum-based ingredients, paraffin, formaldehyde and colourants of synthetic origin are permitted. Those ingredients are substituted by vegetal derivates. Organic Cosmetics do not contain GMOs or synthetic perfumes.
